Taylor Bridge
700 meter long, 6-span steel truss bridge
Location: Taylor, British Columbia
Date built: Late 1950s
Date of test: July 2006
Purpose of Test: During inspections, noticeable motion was observed at one of the piers of the Taylor Bridge during passage of heavy traffic. This study measured the maximum displacement at the top of the piers under normal traffic load conditions to determine if there is unexpected movement that could compromise the structural stability of the bridge.
